Tatasky has not reduced the prices
This is just a eyewash.
I have gone through the judgment of the case (available on net at tdsat.nic.in). This case was filed by TATAKY against Zee for providing them channels with all bouquets at a price of Rs.83.85 and whereas TATASKy wanted only 02 bouquet comprising of 19 channels. Now they will be getting 19 Channels as liked by TATASKY at a price of 50 % of Rs 83.85 i.e. reduction in RS. 42/ per customer.
Tatasky has not reduced the prices and saved RS. 42 per customer. What a trick to earn revenue and be befool customers. I think TRAI should take look into such malpractices suo moto and asked TATASKY to maintain the same channels as offered in the initial package or to reduce the price by same.
The advertisement that TATASKY gave is also eyewash and bad since it influences the customers connoting that Tatasky is helpless since it is court order whereas this is not the case. I hope somebody is looking into it and will take action. I tried to e-mail TRAI but unfortunately mail bounced back.

Just for your information Tatasky having 12 transponders at Insat 4A while Dish TV has only 8 at NSS-6.
I was watching DISH TV India (share) listing at CNBC TV 18, Mr. Subhash Chandra was addressing that in next 4 years DISH TV will increased by 400 channels and he expecting some international channels will also be added, which cable operator might not be able to show. It is great news for all of us to maintain the competition in our benefit.
I read some where from Mr. Kaushik of TATASKY that Tatasky will not invest anymore by the year 2015 in technology up gradation. Some how it shows that tatasky is using MPEG 4 technology which provide over 20 channels in a single transponder. by a simple calculation TATASKY must not be using over 5 transponders. 7 needs to be used further to increased the number of channels. Even SUN TV is also using MPEG technology according to Mr. Maran and having 6 transponder at the latest Insat. 4C. Reliance Bluemagic will start by the year end with 8 transponders, In that way maximum number of transponders are with TATASKY and it is very difficult to get any more transponders to the existing player by the end of 2008, as by the end of 2008 Bharti will get transponders. Videocon also shows his interest in DTH but when will he allocated transponders I didn’t get any news over net.
I was told by some one that Tatasky is coming with the packages in next 15 days lets see whether they reduce the cost after minimize number of zee channels. They must need to add some entertainment channels even when they are not currently showing FTA (free to air channels). I think TATASKY showing maximum number of regional and religious channels if package divided by these categories we may have to pay less.
I am sure we will be benefited due to the forthcoming competition in service, pricing, quality and channels as well.

It is nothing but deceiving the cusomers. I always trusted the tata name as somebody who will never cheat on the consumers. But I am sadly disappointed. I got tata sky three months back and now I am repenting. I think I should have opted for dishtv. How can they stop showing 13 channels one fine day. We are their consumers, they should have asked us. There are many people I know who regularly watch the great movies on zee classic, zee premier and also like zee music. We should be the ones choosing and they should be providing us what we want accordingly pricing our chosen list of channels. This is mere cheating. Anybody reading this and thinking of buying tata sky pls pls pls dont.
